Overview | Resource Management | Reforestation

SYF was given three reforestation areas by the forest department of Sarawak Government for reforestation activities so that the forest in Sarawak can be sustained. The three reforestation areas are LPF/0017, LPF/0018 and LPF/0019.

SYF has set up a strong management team to handle all the reforestation activities. They have come up with a 10-year program to plant the three licensed areas with selected softwood tree. The selected types of trees are Kayu Mancis (Albizia Falcata), and Rubber (Hevea Brasiliensis). All these trees have been tested and researched for plywood manufacturing and have been found to be very satisfactory. Most of the selected trees are of fast growing species and will produce good quality wood within ten years. We are also researching Akasia (Acacia Mangium and Acacia Hybrid) for our future use.
