Miri Belait Trasnport Co. Bhd (Co. No. 101376-M) and Miri City Bus Sdn Bhd (Co. No. 219766-M) are the two main bus companies which operates air-conditioned buses solely by the bus driver without any bus conductor throughout Miri region.

At this moment, we provide a total of 19 routes for the entire public service in Miri. What is more, Miri Belait Transport Co. Bhd provides bus chartering service to the general public throughout Sarawak, Brunei and Sabah. Furthermore, Miri Belait Transport Co. Bhd provides the route from Miri -> Sugai Tujuh -> Kuala Belait at 7am , 10am, 1pm and 3:30pm everyday. The bus fare is RM 13.00 per passenger.

In 2003, Miri City Bus obtained the ISO 9002 certification in provision of public transport within the city of Miri. Within the same year, Kuala Belait Transport Co. Bhd also gained the ISO 9002 certifications in provision of public transport within Miri city, Miri - Sg Tujuh and bus chartering service throughout Sarawak and Sabah.

 

1.  Purchase of Tickets

  • Instant fare ticket is printed & produced to passenger upon boarding
  • Passengers are advised to tender the exact dare as change is not guaranteed
  • Tickets purchased are NON-REFUNABLE
  • Please check & verify your ticket to ensure bus dare, date & time are printed correctly
  • If you are regular public bus user, we encourage you to purchase the monthly bus card
  • The monthly bus card can be bought from our office at Miri Bus Station (Please refer to our office staff for more details on the monthly bus card)
  • Don’t pass your money directly / hand to hand to driver.

2.  Use of Tickets / Monthly Bus Card

  • All passengers using our service must possess valid tickets or monthly bus card for their intended trips
  • Tickets / Monthly bus card may be inspected by our enforcement staff at any time and must be shown upon request.

3.  Boarding Bus Procedures

  • When boarding a bus:–
  • Step 1 – identify & confirm your destination with the indicator / signal at the top front panel of the bus
  • Step 2 – put your money into the coin box (if you are not monthly card holder)
  • Step 3 – claim your ticket form the driver instantly
  • Step 4 – verify your ticket to avoid unnecessary inconveniences( i.e Fares, date & time must be correctly printed on the ticket)
  • Step 5 – keep your ticket throughout your journey for enforcement check
  • (Attention : when there is a conflict with our service, it is advisable for passenger to take down the bus PLATE NO., PLACE & TIME of incidence to lodge complaint report.)
  • Step 6 – Press the ring button when the bus is about to reach your destinated bus stop (i.e. about 20 metres away from the bus stop).

4.  Penalty Fares

  • Short-payment of fare : RM 10.00 or maximum fare of the route whichever is higher
  • Unable to produce valid ticket / monthly bus card upon enforcement check : RM10.00
  • We deserve the right to stop miss-behaved passengers using our service.

1.  Safety & Security

The DO’s

  • Always check the displayed indicators on the bus to ensure you board the correct bus for your destination
  • Boarding bus at front door & alighting bus at the rear door
  • Always make yourselves seated in the bus whenever possible
  • If you are seated, show yourselves a good civic-minded citizen by offering your seat to the elderly or those more in need
  • Standing passengers should always use the stanchions & handgrips provided.

The DON’Ts

  • Never board or alight when the bus has not come to standstill
  • While on board, don't stand near to the door-side under any circumstances
  • Never make improper use of any facility on the bus as this may cause undue inconvenience to other bus
  • Don’t vandalize any facilities provided to you on the bus.
  • As this is a public service, we advise passengers not to carry large amount of cash or wearing highly visible valuable belongings while taking our service.

  • Avoid traffic jammed
  • Miri public buses are fully air-conditioned

  • Convenient ! Miri public bus service operates from 6am to 9pm daily.
